Media Alert Not Resetting After O.K.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? When the Media Alert comes up and you O.K. it, sometimes it won't reset; it just keeps coming back saying "Please remove the media" even after I have taken the tape out. We're using Windows 2003 Small Business Server Premium Edition. The only way to make this reset is to reboot the server.

Just a BandAid, not a fix, but try stopping the BEWS services rather than Booting
BESTOP and BESTART are two CMD files in the Utilities directory

Hello,

Does the problem with regards to media alert persist? Have the steps suggested by Mr. Putnam helped?

You can additionally configure automatic response to alerts in case you have not already done so. Refer to the following technote for more information on the same:

Title: How to configure Backup Exec 9.x and 10.x for Windows Servers to respond to alerts automatically
http://support.veritas.com/docs/254685

In case you do not have SP2 for 9.1, you can install it from the following link:
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691 - Service Pack 2
http://support.veritas.com/docs/275247

If the issue persists, revert with details.

Note : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked ‘assumed answered’ and would be moved to ‘answered questions’ pool.

Regards.
