Hi

I have problem with, Media "xxxx" is overwrite protected.
I follow :

http://support.veritas.com/docs/204061 din't help much

so when i come to figure 4.)

overwrite protection period: is set op to "NONE"
Append period : "NONE"

boxes are in grey, so i can't change anything,

How do i change that to "infinite" ?

cause i have a problem that i can't overwrite media...
when i take backup and

in Media tab, and when i choice Media Sets
in the right window/panel, under the collumn labeled "Appendable Until"
is "Not Appendable"

How do I change that to "Infinite - Allow Append" ?

I use MediaServer Version 9.1 Rev 4691

i will be very thankful for all help...

Are you logged in as an Administrator when you try to make the changes?

If so, you should be able to make changes to the OPP and APP of any media set. You cannot make changes to individual tape volumes.

If you are getting an Overwrite Error, I'm not sure why you are trying to change the Append Period, tho

You can only turn it in or off. When it is on, you get what you get. Some data compresses better than others, see http://support.veritas.com/docs/199542

I generally figure about 1.3:1 until a specific share/drive has been backed up a couple of times, and I can see how it actually compresses.
