Moving Media Server

We currently are using Backup Exec for Windows Servers 9.1 on a Windows NT Server. The administrator will be moving Backup Exec to a Windows XP server. He would like the data (media info, etc) to come along as well. Could someone please tell us how this could be accomplished? Or, where else would we find this information? Thank you.

If you were staying on the same OS, there is a procedure for moving the MSDE database to a new machine, but it specifically says do not use if the OSs are different.

If you have the Admin Plus Pak, you should be able to transfer the entire install from the old to the new machine

Hello,

The reply posted by Mr.Putnam does answer it. However in case you consider moving the entire Backup Exec installation from one server to another server with the same OS, you can find the procedure in the technote given below (the one referred to by Mr. Putnam in the previous reply):

Title: How to uninstall and reinstall Backup Exec 9.x, or move Backup Exec 9.x to a different computer, without losing job configuration information

In case of any other queries on this, do write back to the forum.
