Hi. I recently was forced to reinstall our server. Now when I am trying to reinstall Veritas Backup Exec 9.0 for Windows Servers it says "not a valid license key". But I have the "SERIAL INFORMATION". I was forced to install the 60-day eval version to get it to take some backup.
Yes I know that this version is old as hell. But its the only version we got. I must have it up and running again. What do I do? I have all the manuals, License Agreement folder (with the lic key), the cd´s, i even got the orginal retail box for it. But it doesnt work.

Ok I figured I must use my serial key to get the license key from you guys. I tested the web form (https://licensing.symantec.com/) and entered the serial key. But its not recognized. What to do?

What is the operating system of the server you are trying to install Backup Exec on?
If your activation key {xx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxx} is for the Small Business version of Backup Exec 9.0, then it would have to be installed on a server running the Microsoft Small Business Server operating system. It will not work on a Windows Standard server.
The Licensing Portal Website { https://licensing.symantec.com/ } is only for registering serial numbers that begin with a capital "B" or "M", followed by 10 numbers
I would recommend contacting the Enterprise Customer Care Team in this case: 800-721-3934
