New Server

Matt_Vaughan

I am currently running Backup Exec 12.5 on a Windows 2000 Server.  I am wanting to move it to a new Windows Server 2003 box.  Is there anything I should be careful of?  I am mainly concerned about my encryption keys, and how to move them (if I have to) to the new server.

Thanks.

You could install v12.5 in DEMO mode on the new box, then run BEUTIL and copy configuration, then shut down/uninstall the origianl BE and install any serials you own on the new box

You'll still need to copy the Logs and Catalogs to the new machine manually, as well as any B2D folders that you have defined

See  http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/304563.htm  to rebuild the catalog index on the new server after copying the catalogs

Thanks, Ken.

I should have mentioned that my DB is on a SQL Server (2005).
