Yet I know there are files in that folder, this happens for any folder I try and backup, the above is simply from a strait backup test.

Any ideas because as the moment if my client looses a file, there is no backup.

Lets try that again without all the extra stuff.

I have a strange problem. Its a new install of Backup Exec, registered, Licensed it backs up all the exchange Data but when I try and backup any folders I get this;

This backup set may not contain any data.

I know there are files in the Directory, I have enabled backup in Shares etc, but still nothing. Its mostly default settings, same as any other Veritas installation I have done.

Hi William,

I just posted a similar message and now found this one. We have exactly the same problem.
Did you find any solution?

I also have this issue. It is very frustating. I have replied to a number of similiar threads to this one. Nobody seems to have an answer yet. I have tried completely removing BUE 11d and reinstalling it with no luck.

Thanks for your post! Just tried it and it also worked for us!
This "special file" checking function is obviously not working correctly and switching it off in the registry does the trick.
Symantec: now you know what is causing this issue, you can fix it!
