One last shot, whats up with DAT72 and BE 10

Okay, I have had multiple clients that have upgraded to backup exec 10 and their Dat72 drives will just quit compressing data. I know its a real problem and I also know it's been posted on here numerous times by myself and other forum users.

I REALLY really would like some kind of answer on this. Is it a problem with the software, will you be putting out an update to fix this? If it's a problem with the hardware, than tell me what I'm doing wrong. I have used multiple SCSI controller cards and I still run into the same issue.

Hello,

There are two types of compression method , Software and Hardware that are
available with Backup Exec.
To use Hardware compression, drives should support it.The software
compression is performed by Backup Exec application.
As you are using Hardware compression option while taking backup, please
verify that your drive supports the hardware compression.
You are using the option, Hardware .This
option uses hardware data compression (if the storage device supports it).
If the drive does not feature hardware data compression, software
compression is used. So in this case compression is enabled and you can
have 80 GB compressed capacity on the media. But, it should be noted that
twice the native capacity of a media is rarely, if ever, achieved.
