Can I use Backup Exec for Windows Servers to backup a remote server running Small Business Server 2003? This would be perfect to backup to our local media server (B2D), we wouldn't need to install a tape drive out there.

Hello,

You can use Backup Exec for Windows Servers to backup a remote server running Small Business Server 2003.

- But if you have Databases running on the SBS they cannot be remotely backed up..

I understand that by design SBS limits access to it's databases, but if the remote agent is installed and running as the Local System Account, wouldn't all access be local?, and as such, as long as a SQL or Exchange serial is installed on the media server, shouldn't SQL or Exchange backup fine remotely?
