Open files problem

We have the following problem:

there a 4 files that keep turning up as open files, that doesn't happen on similiar systems running with other client of ours

The system is running SBS2000 with veritas backupexec v9.00 Rev4454

These are the files that keep turning up

The item C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\GKDB.ldb in use - skipped.

The item C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\GKDB.MDB in use - skipped.

The item C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SOPHOS\LOG\ERRORLOG in use - skipped.

The item C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\Data\BEX01407.xml in use - skipped.

The easy way is to exclude them from the backup but these files are backed up by other system running similiar configuration and software. And because there are log files
included in the exception we don't really want to do this

All the other files like exchange data, and other databases (veritas runs it own database, wich is backed up) are being backed up without any problems

Can anyone shed a light on this problem?

Hello,

- Are you using Advance Open File Option (AOFO)?
- Does this happen only on these files or do they change everytime there is a backup?
- Is there antivirus installed on all remote computers that you are backing up?

This only happens to the mentioned files here. And the AOFO option is not used

This is also the case on similiar server system configurations that we administer. And it only happens on this server.

On all these servers the same anti-virus package is running with te same configuration.

this is why it is so strange

Hello,
The SQL database files can be backed up using agent provided, the backup exec database is backed up during the database maintenance, provided you run the maintenance regularly.
