I installed Windows 2K3 with BE 9.1 in HP DL380 server. I need to use SmartStart CD which is provided by HP for fresh installing OS. I run IDR on this DL380 server and created IDR bootable CD. What is the sequence to use two CD for IDR?

Hello,

Please refer the following technote for performing IDR.

No, you may confuse my question.
In normal procedure: If I run IDR, I need to use IDR's bootable image (CD) to boot up server. I need to use SmartStart CD to boot up HP server for Windows 2K3 installation. If I run IDR on HP server, which CD should be use for boot up server? If I use IDR's CD, I can't use SmartStart CD. If I use SmartStart CD, then IDR process will not show on screen.

Any Suggestion?

hello,

1. Refer this technote to ensure that you have created the bootable CD properly:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/257061

2. Only this bootable CD is sufficient for IDR you do not need the windows OS cd. Refer to this technote to restore a server using idr:
