Check the SCL and HCL below to ensure that your software and hardware are supported
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH217478
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH214803
Windows 2000 is not supported by BE 2014
To migrate to a different OS, see this document
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH129826
Before you do the migration, stop all the BE services and make a copy of the Data and Catalog directories under the BE installation directory. This is in case there is a problem with the upgrade and you need to revert.

How about same OS but migrate BE server / agent to 2014 ?
Thanks

The steps are pretty much the same when migrating to another server with same OS.

Backup Exec 2014 can communicate with Backup Exec 12.5 Remote Agent for Windows Systems and later.
I can upgrade BE server only ?
Backup Exec 2014 supports side-by-side installations of the Remote Administration Console for Backup Exec 2010 and later. For example, you can have a Remote Administration Console for Backup Exec 2012 and a Remote Administration Console for Backup Exec 2014.
I can install BE 2014 to existing current BE 2012 server ?

Same server / OS will be used (Keep current OS).
Any procedure ? Or just install BE 2014 ?
Thanks

Yes, you can install BE 2014 over existing BE 2012 server.

You can upgrade the media server without upgrading the remote agents, but this should be a temporary situation for rolling upgrades of your remote servers. You cannot use BE 2014 with a BE 12.5 agent for the long term.
When you install BE 2014 to the existing BE 2012 media server, the existing BE 2012 will be upgraded to BE 2014. You cannot have 2 versions of BE on the same server. What you have quoted is for the BE remote console and I don't know where you get the information from, so I cannot judge the accuracy of the information.

Stop the BE services and manually copy the Data & Catalog folders to an alternate location.
Start the services and run the BE 2014 installer directly. You can either manually update SQL 2005 with SP4 prior to the upgrade or let the upgrade installer take care of the SQL install automatically.

2) Do I need to unisntall current BE server 2012 / 2010 before install BE server 2014 ?

OK, then existing BE will be overwritten by BE 2014 or 2 version will remain ?

...if you uninstall, you remove everything unless you grab manual copies of the Data/Catalogs folders before doing so.
If you upgrade, only 1 version is left...the upgraded BE 2014.
Thanks!

Refer to http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO98878, below 4 steps need to do before upgrade.
1) Delete the job histories and the catalogs that you no longer need to shorten the upgrade window.
2) Run a database maintenance job.
Thanks !!

1) If all catalogs are deleted, then you will have to recatalog each media prior to a restore. If all histories are deleted, then you would not be able to view historical job data.
2) A database maintenance is run automatically by BE everyday at 4am. Else, if you want it to run manually, run it via BEUtility - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67239
