Random use of slots in autoloader

Hi

I have two customers with backupexec 9.1 an autoloaders (one Tandberg SLR75 and one Dell Power Vault 120T). The problem is that backupexec chooses randomly from the slots in the autoloader. For example I insert the tapes and run an inventory job and when the daily backup runs bakupexec could use the slots like 2, 5, 1, 4 and 3. I would like it to use the slots in order (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). All the tapes are in the same media set.

How can I control this?

Hi,

Creating partitions, due to which backup exec will have a better control on the media management will help you resolve the issue. Heres a document which will be of help to create partitions:
