Recover a AD object

I have a full backup on a disk and I need to restore an object that I was not suppose to delete from AD. I have already located the object on the restore disk, system state , AD and browsed the object in the right OU. What do I need to do now? Restart the server in disrepair mode and run the restore? Is it not going to overwrite AD using normal mode? Also, I have a second DC in the domain. Do I need to run ntdsutil authoritative restore? Thanks for the answer, I prefer not to have problems later...

Thanks for the links, very helpful. Though they do not specify if I have to restart the DC in dsrepair mode, in order for the AD to get overwritten?

If you have ADRA than you don't need to start DC in DSRM mode.

I take it ADRA option should be selected at the time of the install?! Does it have an extra cost?

ADRA is a licensed agent which allows to perform GRT backup & restore of the Active Directory.
