Hi,

The probable cause of this : Remote Agent service gets crashed at the time of backup Or the Remote Agent service is getting timed out (Hangs).

Remote agent is installed on the local Backup Exec server as a part of basic installation of Backup Exec. This remote agent on the local Backup Exec server is used to perform the backup of the data on the local machine.

To resolve the issue, try changing the Remote Agent Priority using the following Technote :

How to change the priority level of the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/253094

I would like to know if this happens on a particular backup job. If yes, try splitting the job into 2-3 smaller jobs and verify the results.

Also, does the backup fail while backing up a particular file ?

Please let us know the further updates.
