Hi folks
I am working with a Backup Exec server that is driving me nuts.
Earlier, we backed up to a SAN and duplicated to tape. Worked VERY well!
Then we decided to take backup to a DataDomain instead. This has really become a real pain, and the backups are failing most of the time.
What happens, is that the remote agent on the media server stops. There might be reasons for that, but I haven't managed to work that out.
We are backing up a virtual environment, and we also use TDS for snapshot backups of this environment. These snapshots are taken before Backup Exec starts, so we shouldn't have a resource conflict (or snapshot conflict, to be more precise).
No remote agens on the client servers has stopped. Does anyone have a clue of where I could start to search?
I understand that this might be too little information, but please ask, and I will try to give more :)
The environment is 2010 R2 on Win 2008 R2.
The 2010 environment is patched to the latest hotfix.

Have you checked that your particular model of DataDomain is supported? See the HCL below

If it is not supported, test it with the B2DTest utility.
