Hi All,
Was wondering if anyone has come across this problem..
Backupexec 9.1 rev 4691
Windows Server 2003
When backing up files created on OSX desktops and saved to 2003 server the remote agent service fails and stops the backup. This is not consistant some users seem fine but others with same files cause remote agent to fail. Never happens on windows clients files ????
Any Ideas would be appreciated..

Hi !
ThankYou for your post. From what you have mentioned,it seems that the remote agent for Mac OSX is stopping and causing the job to fail . I would suggest you to try the following Technote article. This is a general step which needs to be carried out as the first troubleshooting step.It should work since you mentioned that the windows clietns can be backed up fine.

Hello,

1. Please check if the Mac OS you are using is compatible with Backup exec.

2. On the MAC check the foll:

1. What MAC OS?
2. What is the Backup Exec MAC Agent revision number? In other words, is the latest MAC Agent installed?
3. What protocol is installed on the MAC?
o The Backup Exec MAC Agent only supports AppleTalk
4. Make sure Mac Agent is started
5. When the MAC Agent was installed, where the Backup Exec MAC files copied to a "closed" System Folder? (This information is necessary if the MAC Agent fails to start).
