Return Code: 1635 Backup Exec 12.5 installation of SP4 fails

rselk
Not applicable

Hi guys,

we have running backup exec 12.5 with SP3 Version 12.5 Rev. 2213. No want to install SP4 but the installtion always fails. Tried it with Live Update and with a manual installation. It´s also very strange that my installed update list in the help - about - tab is empty.

In the bkupinst.log log I can see this message:

Hi,

If something like this happens, I normally disable my AV before trying it again. Something that has also helped was stopping the BE services before installing any SP.

Thanks!

What has this article got to do with his problem?  His problem is due to a patch not found and this article is talking about an SQL problem.  Please do not just search for the KB by keywords and posting everything that you find.  This is not the way to solve problems.

Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows Servers service packs or patch installation fail just check once again

So I thought it may help

...unless you're actually adding something that DIRECTLY references the problem, it really doesn't help. It just points a poster in the wrong direction.
