Robotic library hardware error

I'm running Veritas Backup Exec 9.1, rev. 4691 on a Windows 2000 Professional machine. The tape backup is a Sony TSL-9000 robotics library. The driver is one I obtained from the Veritas drivers page, is version 5.0 and dated 9/2/2003. When I first installed the TSL-9000 everything worked flawlessly for several months. However, over the last couple of months, I'm receiving both a 'Robotic library hardware error' and a 'request could not be performed because of an I/O device error', always during the verify stage of the backup, never the initial write. This happens on our full backup (3 tapes) almost weekly, and sporadically on the incremental backup (single tape per day). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

FYI...

Thanks for the info. I did update the drivers package from the link you provided. I also yesterday re-cabled the SCSI chain internally, so now only time will tell. My problems always occur during backups to the TSL-9000, and then only during the verification phase. Last night's backup ran without problems, but I won't consider this resolved until a week's worth of backups (including a full backup) have run normally.

Thanks.
