SQL 2005 and Veritas 10.1d Problem.

We're running Veritas 10.1d and have applied hotfix 6 and also sp2 which I believe includes that hotfix too. We are in the process of upgrading to sql 2005 from 2000 and before installing hotfix 6 and SP2, I was unable to connect or even attempt to backup our 2005 database but then after installing them, I was able to connect and the backup starts fine. But...it runs to a minute or two and the byte count gets to maybe a meg or 2 meg and just hangs. I let it run for about 10-15 minutes but just seems to be hung and the byte count doesn't increase. I tried on two different servers and the only other difference between these and our 2000 sql servers is that the 2005 sql is on windows 2003. I think with the 2000 sql, I needed to install the sql client tools on the backup server? Thanks, Joe

Hi,

Are you backing up to a tape or to a B2D?

Whats the status of the job in "Job Monitor"?

Is it a problem just with SQL 2005 or the backup of partitions on the SQL 2005 server also have the same problem..?
