Saving media information when reinstalling or upgrading

Hello,
Is there any way to keep all the media stats data - such as how many bytes have been written to each tape, how many hours in use, how many mounts, etc - when reinstalling the software or upgrading to a newer version? We run weekly backup status reports to our customers along with media stats (to show which tape has a problem, which ones needs to be replaced, etc). We just installed version 11d to address an issue and all the data is lost. I would like to be able to save the data so that we can continue to monitor the tape health. Is it also possible to save backup history - like byte count, success or fail, etc?
Thanks.

If you do a clean install, not

if you upgrade or do an uninstall/reinstall following
http://support.veritas.com/docs/260054  you hsould keep all media info, including stats, since they are kept in the BEDB database

Dang!  they've removed the v9 instructions to Uninstall/Reinstall and retain all local info The v10 doc is here, and you should be able to use it as a guide

Thanks. Unfortunately, the first link says the content is no longer there. Would you have any more information regarding upgrading to a newer version. In our case, we went from version 9.1 to 11d and realized after the fact that it would have been nice to keep the data.

You could have migrated it upgrade time, but  after the install, I don't think that there is any way to import that info (tape stats, that is)

You should be able to import the catalog though

Thanks again. Can you provide more information on how to migrate the data or import the catalogs?
