I am running a new installation of Backup Exec 2012 (ver 14.0 Rev. 1798 - 64-bit) on a SBS 2011, fully up-to-date.

My backup jobs appear to be completing successfully.  As a test of restoring of an indivdual email I clicked on the "Search" icon on the "Backup and Restore" tab/ribbon.  Selecting the "Microsoft Exchange mailbox items located through Search", then selected "Mail Messages', picked a date range and entered a "Subject" exactly as it appears on one of my emails from last week. For example "Symantec", I have several emails in my mailbox with that word in the subject line.

Clicking on Search, it appears to working but displays "Found 0 matches".

No error messages appear.

Ok what am I missing?

Matt

Does any other metadata type such as name, time etc work or do they also return 0 results ?

And are you attempting the restore from tape or disk ? If tape, duplicate the backup sets to disk & re-check...

Did your date range include the dates the e-mails were actually received/sent or the only date of the backup?

All searchs show 0 results.

I am backing up to Disk.  I'm doing a full backup.

Is there something I have to check or setup to be able to restore individual emails?

Also;

In the search Criteria selections - what is "Location"?

I have been leaving it unchecked since I was not sure what it is asking for.
