I'm running a backup-to-disk job each night, and when that completes a duplicate job copies it to the daily tape in a Powervault. The B2D job verify is very slow, and I need to decrease my backup window because it's starting to spill over into work hours.
I am also using "verify" for the duplicate job to tape. Do I need to Verify both? I reallize the standard answer will be "yes" and to check bottleneck network issues, etc...but is it overkill to verify both backup jobs?
If I were you, I would just verify Duplication, and would schedule the verification of the backup to disk job. That way, if both are right, your backups are restorable.
