Slow RALUS backup after 2010 R3 update to SP2

Running BE 2010 R3 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Upgraded Media Server from SP1 to SP2, and upgraded all agents (all are RAWS except for one RALUS) to SP2 as well. Subsequent backup jobs for all Windows boxes run as expected.

However, the backup job for the Linux box (Red Hat Enterprise 5.6) with RALUS runs extremely slow, to the point where the backup will never finish in an appropriate time. I've restarted the RALUS client, tried backing up to both disk and tape, and even completely reinstalled the agent on the machine, but the backups continue to run slowly (somewhere around 100-200 MB/s).

Symantec support is suggesting to reboot the box, but as this is a critical production server it is not my favorite solution. Since the client was already reinstalled, I'm not sure how a reboot would even help.

Anyone else run into this issue? Any suggestions on a resolution?

Are you backing up Mounted Volumes ?

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH87600 (Slow performance for Ralus backups may be related to direct memory access for the mounted volumes on the server.)

Is this happening on Inc/diff jobs ?

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH61369  (Slow performance is noticed on differential and incremental backups using modified time when compared to the speed of the full backups on Linux and Unix systems.)

Hope this helps.
