Snapshot errors on backupexec 9.1 and SBS2003

At different clients we recently seem to get more of these errors lately

We have searched de support site, but on the hex number nothing is found.

Does anyone have an idea on this isseu?


Backup - \\SERVER-MCPROFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
OFO: Snapshot error (0xfffffed1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.

Hello Andre,

If you are having issues with the VSS, you should first check if the Voulme Shadow Copy Service start up type is set to manual.

If this is true, then you should run the vssadmin list writers command right after your backup fails with this error.

Check if all the writer statuses are being shown as "STABLE". You might also want to copy the output of this command to a text file and review it later.
