Specifying tapes to days

Hello all,

I currently have a Dell PE 2650 with Windows Server 2003 installed. Backup Exec 10d is install on this server, and is connected to a Dell PV 124T LTO 16 tape backup device.

My question is: How do I make a backup schedule that will specify which tape I want to back up to per which day the backup runs. I would like to do scheduled incremental daily backups during the week, and then a scheduled full backup on the weekend. I would also like to do a full backup biweekly to a specific slot (slot 15) no matter which tape is in there for an off-site plan.

What I would like to do is assign slot 1 to Monday, slot 2 to Tuesday.... and so on. Then slot 6 would be a full backup of the week. I don't really know what I would like to do with the extra slots yet, as I really just want to get this plan implemented.

There used to be an autoloader wizard in previous versions of BE that would help you do this, but I have yet to find this feature. Is there such a feature in 10d, or am I a lost cause?

Thanks,

Ken

You can partition the loader, and then change/create jobs to point to each partition

Thanks for the documents. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but yes, the documents did help me to set up a backup schedule that is similar to what I wanted to be able to do with backup exec.
