I have a system that runs Symantec Backup exec version 12.5. The backup failed the other night with error:
Backup- DCEORA2
- AOFO: Initialization failure on: "System?State". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
V-79-10000-11212 - VSS Snapshot error. The Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) snapshot provider was in an incorrect state.
The backup has continued to fail every night on this.
I opened command prompt and ran VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS and got this output :
vssadmin 1.1 - Volume Shadow Copy Service administrative command-line tool

Checked event viewer and did not see any errors in either applications or system regarding VSS. Has anyone seen this before?
