Tape on remote server

i have bakup exec installed on a windows 2003 server and i have a tape drive installed on a windows 2000 server.
is it possible to use the remote tape drive in backup exec for executing backup?

No.

Locally attached tape drives must be attached to the media server for BackupExec to use them.

Only if its a SAN environment otherwise device should be locally attached to Media Server.

so i should have a second license and install a second server to use it
