The job log for this job may not be generated

One of my backup jobs have failed and when you click on the job to view the job log you receive the following error: The job log for this job may not be generated.

I have the correct settings in the options menu under database maintenance. The job fails with 0 bytes and no time.

Any suggestions????

When clicking on a particular job in Job Monitor (under Job History), the error message "The job log for this job may not be generated" is displayed.
