Two Different "root" Users

JuergenRoth

Hi,

our problem is, that we have 2 different Linux-Servers to save.
We have installed the RALUS on the first, create in Backup Exec an Account withe the name "root" for the user root on the first server.
It works since 1 1/2 years.

Now we got a second linux-server an do the same. But, i can't create a second account for the other "root" in Backup Exec.
The both root-users on the different has different passwords, of course !!!

And it seems, that the RALUS works only with the Root-User.

And now??

Inside Backup Exec you can create 2 different accounts with the same logon name but different passwords very easily

In the BE Console

Go to Network - Logon accounts (on the menu bar)
Create the first account - make the Account Name specify "Machine1-Root" and make the User Name 'root' and specify the password for machine1
Create the second account - make the Account Name "Machine2-Root" and make the User Name 'root' and specify the password for machine2

In the Source section of the Backup job use the Resource Credentials subsection to define the correct account for each resource being backed up by the job.
