Two tapes needed for Backup Exec 10d.

I was just curious on some information. I have searched the forum and found a few possible ideas that I am going to try but I was wondering if anyone knows why, out of the blue, I now require two tapes to perform my full backup when before, all I needed was one. I am backing up to a 400/800 tape and am backing up just less than 300GB of data. There has been a few suggestions of taking off the option of appending to media, but since I have it set to overwrite everytime I didn't have that option. I am going to put in a tape that has been erased tonight and see how that goes. I was just wondering if anyone has an idea.

Hi,

Check and see what compression you are getting on your tapes...also, some data CAN inflate during a backup if it is already compressed...

Thanks!
