Unable to allocate from system pool

The server in question has Windows 2003 SBS, and BE 10.

The server would kick all clients out and yet still be ok locally. After checking the event logs, I see that after every kickout there are 5-6 of these errors:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Srv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2019
Date: 21/09/2005
Time: 15:21:23
User: N/A
Computer: LCS1
Description:
The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty.

Looking on the internet led me to a M$ doc that described this problem with otman*.sys. The server doesnt not have this file. Also, symantec is not installed either which some other articles relate to.

Disabling Vertias has temporarily solved the problem, but now no backups can be performed. Have you any suggestions?

Many thanks

Hi Hong,

this issue occurs due to Veritas only if the otman5.sys or otman4.sys are installed on the server which get installed with the Open File Option of 8.6. Since this is not the case, the issue does not seem to occur because of Veritas Backup Exec.
