All,
I am receiving the following error message:
Job ended: 12 October 2010 at 06:43:18
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe0008524 - Unable to initialize the snapshot because the Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) is not installed on the target computer. You must install this option, restart the computer, and then run the job again.
Final error category: System Errors
This failure only is in relation to backing up the System State data on this particular domain controller. All other data is backed up successfully.
Backup Exec services are running with the Local System account.
I am running Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2.
Any ideas?
TIA.

Try uninstall and reinstall of the remote agent
if this does not work
make sure the account is a part of the domain admin, administrators and backup operators group
refer the following document http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH23689
make sure just the remote agent service is running on LSA and the rest of the backup exec services are running on the Domain admin account

@Maheshroja - You have provided 2 documents. Which one is the solution to the problem and why??

Hello,
You need to use Administrator account on that domain. and Re-install remote agent to domain controller again.

First one may issue mightbe the the Backup Exec (tm) service account has not been granted the correct privileges (including privileges for group policies).

The second may cause because the Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) is not installed on the target computer

So you see. You cannot be sure which is the solution to the problem unless the user marks the answer. That is why the forum administrators cannot just mark any answer as the soultion

Please stop supplying multiple "solutions"...give advice, let the user try it, and if it doesn't work, they will reply back.
Stop sending out the wrong information too...this isn't a forum just to get points...!!!
