I use BE 10.0 and a Dell PV-122T carousel autoloader at a co-location administered remotely. My problem is that I have to open tickets for co-location personnel to remove or insert tapes. I unlock the door in BE for them and if they get there in a few minutes, it will work.
Problem is that if they can't get there quickly enough, (more times than not) the "unlock" has timed out. It is annoying for them to have to call me to unlock the tape drive - to the point that they are considering charging us to do this.
Is it possible to unlock the door and have it remain unlocked until I acknowledge it? Or unlock it for a given period of time?
