Hi,
I´m helping a customer upgrading from BE2010R3 to BE2012 and we´re having big problems.
The installation hangs on Migration Progress when it´s doing ”Starting the synchronization of the catalog index database”. The progressbar below moves but nothing happens. We have left it on for up to 24 hours but still nothing. And when I check the installationlog "BKUPINST2012.HTM" there´s no entry between the start of the sync catalog and when I abort the upgrade. The bemig.exe process is using 50% CPU and lots of memory constantly.
What can be the cause of this?

...stop your AV during the upgrade and run it again!

The server doesn´t have any AV installed.

Whats the size of the Catalogs folder.....?? Is it too big that the migration is taking so much of time and resources?
Thanks,

...and BE 2010 R3 has the latest SP and any additional patches installed? The SQL service is also started up?

Yes, we regurlarly update everything using LiveUpdate from within BE. Including SPs and hotfixes.
And the SQL service is also running.
The BE2010R3 is running backups smoothly without problems so everything should be updated and in place.

The Catalogs folder is about 8.9GB and contains about 5500 files.
I´m not sure if that´s considered big or not?
Thanks
