Using BE 12.5 on a SBS server remotly backing up windows 2000 server with SP2

This is a new install. I am backing up the shares on this remote server but it is giving an error

Error category : Resource ErrorsError : e000846b - The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent.
Make sure that the correct version of the Remote Agent is installed and running on the target computer.

The problem is that the windows 2000 server can not have the remote agent as you need SP4 as minimum spec. This server used to have an old version of backup exec on it but it has been removed too. I cant see any instance of a remote agent and I have gone through regedit etc.

So I was wondering if someone can help me with this problem as this server has some important shares that need to be backed up.

Hi there

I contacted Symantec directly and they explained what is going on. It looks like the failed error will always show up because I dont have the agent installed but the actual data is being backed up dso thats the important thing
