Is AOFO checked on exchange backup? Dont use that its not recommended

run vssAdmin list writers one xchange server..All the writers should be in stable and no error state.

Apply VSSrolluppatch if has issues with VSS writers.

Is it a emptry storage group?

Try This:

https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=be12_exchange&thread.id=793

I had similar problems, but not exactly the same error messages. Your problem almost looks like your staging area cannot be seen by backup exec. Make sure your staging area is located on your media server not a remote storage.

Just a though.
