Veritas Version 8.6 upgrade

We have V8.6 on a "windows 2000" platform.
are changing the server to a "windows small business server 2003". Will 8.6 work ? if not how do we go about upgrading ? and to what version do we upgrade ?

Win2k3 is supported on v9.1.4454 or later

You will need to purchase a new version of BackupExec, and Veritas no longer sells v9, so that would be v10

Do you have a test environment? IIRC, BUE 9.1 honors the 8.6 serial numbers. Try downloading 9.1 here:

You can upgrade from 8.6 to 9.1 which is a paid upgrade. For more information please refer to the following technotes.

Backup Exec 9.1 pour Windows Servers can be now downloaded from out site. This version can be tested for an evaluation period of 60 days.
