Virtual server backup

When backing up a virtual server environment, does a remote agent need to be installed on each virtual server? Or do you just install one remote agent on the host server?

Is there any Veritas documentation that describes backing up a virtual server environment?

Thanks for your help.

Hello

Are you using VMWare as a Virtual server ?
If so then Backup Exec for Windows Servers may be used to backup files on VMWare virtual servers via network shares. Please note the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows is not supported with VMWare.

The VMWare virtual server is not supported as a media server and no Agents or Options for Backup Exec for Windows Servers are supported in VMWare environments.

The VMware product itself provides transparency to the operating systems, applications, and middleware including VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers, that operate above it.

We hope this helps.

Regards

You must use the agent on each virtual server, the agent can not see that you are in a virtual inviroment. The agent do not see it as a, VMware virtual server, but a normal Windows box.. Just as a normal inviroment. It is full supportetMessage was edited by:
