What to expect from Encrypting backups

Didn't receive a response the first time, so reposting:

We would like to utilize the data encryption of 11d.  What can I expect in terms of backup times?  I know this depends on many factors, but those of you who are doing this, what has your experience been?  On average, our full backups are 220GB, and take around 22 hrs.  Daily backups are 55GB, and take around 8 hrs.  Just a ballpark guess, how much longer will our backups take?

I understand that encryption takes place on the remote servers.  What affect does this have on server CPU/RAM utilization? 

In short, I'm just trying to get a sense of what will be different, how remote servers will be affected, what can I expect in terms of backup times, etc.

Unfortunately I can not give you a good answer for this as you mentioned the many different factors that at involved in backup speeds.  The only thing that I could suggest doing is running a few test backups and monitor the performance of those backups so that you can see what it is going to do to your speeds.
