When creating backup to disk -error: The user specificed does not exist

Hi,

When setting up a backup to disk folder/location I get a veritas error stating the the specified user does not exist.

The backup folder is located on a snap appliance and on this server i have version 9.0 of backup exec.

When using a local folder or other network shares there are no issues?

Also I am using version 8.6 on two other servers and these have no problem with backup to disk folders on the snap appliance?

Thanks for any help provided,

Are yo connecting to the SNAP with an account defined on the SNAP, or just with a DomainAccount?

Hi,

We apologise for the inconvenience caused because of the delayed response. Please let us know if your issue / problem is resolved so that we can mark this case as "assumed answered" and move it to "answered threads" pool.

However, if the issues still persist then refer to the steps mentioned below:

Create a new user account. Assign Local Administrator and Domain Administrator permission to that user account

Make this user local administrator of NAS server

Start Backup Exec > Tools > Backup Exec services > Check "change service account information" option > enter newly created user name and password > Ok > Stop all services > Start all services

Now try creating Backup-to-disk folder on NAS server and verify the result.

Please inform us whether the issue is resolved or not with the steps provided in the previous post. Are you now able to create a Backup to Disk folder on the SNAP Server.
