We have two 8 slot HP autoloader libraries with one drive each coupled to a dedicated Windows 2003 server running BackupExec 10 5520. I noticed an odd thing today during a very long verify running on autoloader 1. A job scheduled to run wasn't run on autoloader 2 (where there was an available tape), instead the verify was queued and the backup job was run on autoloader 1 (yes, there was an available tape there, too). Is there any way to get BackupExec to first use a free device and then, if that loader doesn't have the right tape, then hunt around for tapes on the autoloader that's busy?
