Hello

You need to install Remote agent on the SQL server and SQL agent license in the BE console (Tools->Install options & license key)

BE11d is compatible with SQL 7.0 Desktop SP3 and above. Below is the link for BE11d Software Compatibility List.

I have the remote agent installed and running. Can you tell me which sql agent I need to purchase? Do I need to order one for each server or just one for the server running backup exec?

You will need two BE SQL agents for your setup. The SQL Agent will include a 'normal' windows agent.
What you also can do is let SQL create backups to file, and backup these files with the standard BE Agent.

You will need 1 SQL agent per SQL server. The SQL agent is not any .exe file its just a license key.

You will have to contact the sales team to purchase the SQL agent
