Workstation backups

Hello,

I just installed Symantec Backup Exec 10d on a Server 2003 server. I need to backup files from 2 other XP workstations in the workgroup.
Do I need to install the remote agent on those computers? If so, I didn't see one for XP. I found the ones for 98/ME, will that work on an XP machine?
I went to tools>install remote agent and located the computers, but it wouldn't work.

TIA,

Eric

To get full backups, yes you need an agent.

It is the same one you would install on a W2K or W2K3 machine, but you do not need a license on the media server to access it

Do a silent install on each machine. See http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/265736.htm

Hello,

As answered by KEN, you can install the remote agent in silent mode on Win xP machines. Please note that it does not require a license.
