corrupt on media errors

everything has been fine with backups until this last weekend. my full backups got a "corrupt on media" error with some tomcat files. I run NW6.5 SP3, newely installed on this server. and BE 9.1 1154.

I do not run Norton, I run Mcafee. turning it off is not an option. it scans inbound only anyway.

why and how do they become corrupt and how do I fix them.

try this link:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/nav_bar/clustersearch.asp?SrchPageID=techsearch.asp&crumb=&highlight=on&SearchArea=All&rc=25&display=&SearchTerm=corrupt+on+media&ddProduct=BENWARE&method=and&group=on&show_news=1&search=Search+Now

It will give you results from the VERITAS Knowledge Base. Some of the results indicate TSAFS as bad and suggesting rollback to TSA600. There are a total of 72 hits on "corrupt on media errors"Message was edited by:

thank you. I did search before I posted and all of the ones I found were caused by Norton antivirus, I do not run that so it didn't fit in my sistuation. but I never seen the "rights" one before. I will look into that one.

also going back to tsa600 is out of the question. admin won't do it.
