exchange message restore

I'm a little confused.  I recently upgraded one of my plants to use BE 11d, and for a while I was able to restore individual messages from exchange.  Now I am unable to do so.  when I go into restore I can restore the entire information store, but i can't drill down any further.  Anyone know the reason for this?

There is a known issue with backups to tape:

that technote provides the workaround until a hot fix is released.  Also, you could do the backups directly to B2D, or do a duplicate copy from tape to B2D and you should see your messages then under restore selections.
