how to restore crashed server from tape

HBK

hi...

one of my server crashed but luckily i've run full backup and store it inside tape.

the problem is how can I restore the server from the tape?

i can't see the option to restore from tape.

I only see 3 methods to restore:

1.) use locally attached media device

2.) use the network and restore from remote backup-to-disk folders

3.) use the network to restore from a remote media server

my tape library attached to media server, not directly to the crashed server

thanks in advance...

Hello

After installing OS you will have to install Remote Agent on the target server.

Then you can restore the crashed server from the Media server where tape

device is attached. Refer to the below article.

You need to select the 1st method  use locally attached media device.

If the backup is taken on different Media server then you would need to Run a catalog on the tape 1st so that the restore selection list is generated.

The server which has crashed is this your backup exec server or a remote server ?

I think you are using IDR to restore your crashed server.  You should choose option 3.  Watch my video which will show you the IDR steps.
