job failed with I/O error + adpu160m event ID 9

593707260
Not applicable
Upgraded from 8.6 to 9.1 BEWS + agent + options.

The BEWS is running W2K server SP4, BEWS 9.1 with SP2 and latest Backup Exec driver. It has a HP LTO Ultrium 2 drive with latest firmware. Supposingly the LTO drive is capable to backup 30MB/sec or 1.8GB/min.

Backup Exec can do quick erase and inventory without any error. However, when starting a backup job (either local backup or remote backup) it will start to backup the first 15MB-90MB of data, and then gradually slow down to 12MB/min then hang for 20-30min until the job time out and failed.

The HEX error code is 45D
Error ‘45d The request could not be performed because of an I/O error’

The LTO drive runs OK on the native NTBackup.

I've a feeling it could be a hardware failure, but i want to verify and confrim with Veritas.
