notifications backup exec 2010 r2 hanged

Hy, I'm using backup exec 2010 r2 and randomly the notification alerts are not received!!

I can view that process is like being hanged

backup exec server ip: 192.168.0.10 

smtp server: 192.168.0.50

netstat output:

[164]  TCP    192.168.0.10:2341     192.168.0.50:25       CLOSE_WAIT      3988 [beserver.exe]

I probed to change the smtp server and I get the same result

If I restart all backup exec services, the alerts begin to be received!!

What can be happening? is that a bug?

Is your media server fully patched? What happens if you use the IP address of your SMTP server?

Media server is with version 13 rev 4164 and I'm using ip address because the server is on workgroup and I haven't got a dns server configurated!!!
