reloading adamm from base

hello

we have 8 SAN attached servers, all seeing 4 libraries, we discovered 1 rogue server which was using its own ADAMM database, on this server, using beutility, this server was set to 'standalone only', and then pointed at the correct server
ever since then, when tapes are inventoried (only on 2 of the libraries strangely), they appear as cleaning media, u then have to delete the media, and rescan the slots so that it appears as normal usable media. follwed some articles regarding SCSI ids, but i dont think thats relevant here
were now thinking of 'reloading from base' the adaam database. Will this trash all media sets? all backup jobs?, what precisely does it remove

BEDB.mdf contains everything about BackupExec except the job logs - Job Defs, Schedules, Media Sets, devices, partitions, etc.

if you blow it away, you will have to recreate everything from scratch

If you haven't already seen it, take a look at http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/254014.htmMessage was edited by:

Hello,

if you will do the reload from base, you will have to recreate everything from scratch i.e Job Defs, Schedules, Media Sets, devices, partitions, etc.

Hello
does this mean, that all jobs, on all media servers (7 other SAN attached servrese using one central ADAMM database) will need to be recreated? were not really using media sets, only 'media set 1'

Hi,

The option "reload from base" creates a totally new database in BE.
All mediasets, backup-to-disk folders, and other settings will have to be created or configured again. Even the jobs will have to be reconfigured.
