restore backup

Just a doubt.
I have one old tape with one complete and few incremental backups and its encrypted. My question is if backup exec would be able to read this tape and build the inventory, the folder structure.... so I could restore it??

So if you know the Encryption key or the Pass phrase then you should be able to Inventory and catalog the tape and then even perform the restore.

Old tape was encrypted using using? (any prior versions of Backup Exec?)

What type of encryption? software/hardware?

Do you know/have the passphrase? If you dont know the passphrase, u cannot restore the informaiton. It is very important to remember the passphrase for an encrypted media.

I know that it was from a backup exec, dont know what version, but i know the encryption key and pass, so i think i will be able to restore, right?! Thanks!
